I created a new score for the Charlie Chaplin’s silent film The Kid for an ensemble of 22 instrumentalists (students from 4 to 35 years), specifically bearing in mind the learning objectives of each one. This project was fruitful in achieving the goals of maximum music coordination and synchronisation with the film, while offering the opportunity for an opening introductory seminar to the students, their friends and families and to the rest of the audience about silent films and their relationship with music. The instrumentation included conventional instruments such as piano, guitars, drums, percussion, bass guitar along with young kids performing on tablets and smartphones.
